Data Center Chief Engineer

Job Description

The AWS Infrastructure Services team is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure to ensure continuous access to innovation for customers.

Requirements

• Technical (Military/Trade School) training or degree in a relevant field (electrical, mechanical)
• 4+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
• 4+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience

Responsibilities

• Act as primary escalation point for facilities-related issues
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians
• Create and deploy new standard practices for technicians
• Assist in projects to increase facility efficiency
• Work outside normal business hours for maintenance
• Communicate technical information to non-technical audience
• Coordinate projects and manage capacity for plant safety and performance
• Establish building performance benchmarks and prepare reports
• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for day-to-day tasks
