Job Description

Amazon Devices is an inventive research and development organization that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. Key responsibilities include guiding the software development lifecycle of devices, analyzing security, developing tools to improve security posture, providing technical security expertise, identifying security risks, and more.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 3+ years of threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP
• Understanding of OS kernel architecture, system security vulnerabilities, and remediation techniques
• Experience with security technologies like eBPF, memory analysis tools, and dynamic analysis approaches
• Knowledge of Android OS internals and common wireless connectivity protocols
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++

Responsibilities

• Guiding the software development lifecycle of devices at Amazon
• Analyzing the security of platform components of consumer devices
• Researching and developing tools and techniques to improve security posture at scale
• Providing technical security expertise and consultation to device product teams
• Identifying security risks and working with product engineers to create mitigations
• Developing new security policies and procedures
• Empowering others to improve their security acumen by promoting awareness and developing training materials
