Sr. Security Engineer, Kuiper Security

Job Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The Kuiper Security team owns the security of product and operations of Project Kuiper end-to-end.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years delivering security software in a production environment
• 3+ years experience delivering distributed software systems in Python, Java, Rust, GoLang or C/C++
• 3+ years experience in delivering for cloud-native environments
• 3+ years in a role handling security incident response or disaster recovery

Responsibilities

• Responsible for root causing security issues, coordinating with Amazon security response teams
• Identifying and driving areas of improvement for Kuiper security mechanisms
• Supporting product development processes by providing consultation services on difficult security decisions
• Collaborating with business leaders to define security priorities
• Supporting product leaders by acting as a trusted advisor
• Providing strategic direction that addresses vulnerabilities and fortifies products
• Guiding teams towards solutions that are secure by default
