Software Engineer II

Job Description

Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer to work on improving the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of the remote storage stack between SQL and the Azure ecosystem.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
• Experience designing and developing production quality software using C/C++
• Experience in Database/OS internals, Hardware knowledge, and Cloud related technologies
• Ability to meet security screening requirements

Responsibilities

• Review and break down work items into tasks, provide estimations, and support feature deployments
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define feature requirements, enhance design, and establish feedback loops
• Present progress/new findings/status of deliverables to key stakeholders
• Apply coding standards and best practices, develop maintainable and extensible code
• Utilize debugging tools to address issues, support identification of dependencies, and contribute to architectural processes
• Produce code to test technical solutions, collaborate on quality assurance plans, and contribute to data analysis for product engineering decisions
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, safety, and accessibility standards, leverage developer tools for code creation and debugging, and seek knowledge to improve product availability and performance
