Senior Software Design Engineer

Job Description

The Xbox Video team is seeking a Senior Software Design Engineer with a passion for video and cutting-edge hardware to work on low-level drivers and firmware for Xbox and related video technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience
• 3+ years experience contributing to device drivers and kernel programming for consumer PCs or electronics
• Good understanding of general media concepts
• Experience coding in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with stakeholders to determine user requirements for scenarios
• Developing design documents and identifying dependencies for products, applications, services, or platforms
• Creating, implementing, optimizing, debugging, and refactoring code to improve performance and maintainability
• Leveraging subject-matter expertise to drive project plans and release plans
• Guiding other engineers as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI)
