Job Description

The Applied Scientist, Gaming AI position at Microsoft involves developing state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to enhance user and content experiences in gaming.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years related experience OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience developing machine learning solutions AND 1+ year(s) customer-facing, project-delivery experience, professional services, and/or consulting experience
• Proficiency in SQL and Python (or R), with experience using data science libraries and tools
• Experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, evaluation, optimization, debugging)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experts in machine learning and distributed systems to develop advanced AI models for gaming experiences
• Design and develop intelligent, versatile AI models tailored to diverse gaming scenarios
• Apply advanced machine learning techniques to enhance gaming experiences
• Build and maintain scalable ML pipelines for training, evaluation, and inference
• Conduct A/B testing and causal inference analysis to evaluate the impact of AI-driven features on player engagement and retention
