Software Engineer II - Azure Storage

Job Description

Microsoft Azure Storage is seeking a Software Engineer II to work on developing and deploying distributed storage solutions with a focus on performance, reliability, efficiency, and security.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience
• 2+ years of experience in developing scalable, multi-threaded infrastructure/backend software with C++
• 2+ years of experience with planning, scheduling, and delivery of quality software
• Experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, or Go
• Experience with debugging tools like WinDBG, Wireshark, etc.

Responsibilities

• Work on design, implementation, and optimizations of highly performant and massively scale out enterprise storage solutions
• Be involved in all phases of the storage lifecycle including design, implementation, test, deployment, and support
• Collaborate with a team of engineers using agile methodologies and DevOps to run live site for the service
• Create code that is extensible, maintainable, and considers diagnosability, reliability, and maintainability
• Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends and technical solutions
• Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions
