Principal Design Engineer

Job Description

Microsoft is seeking a Principal Design Engineer to join the dynamic Artificial Intelligence System on Chip (AISoC) Silicon team, playing a crucial role in developing cutting-edge technology.

Requirements

• Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree with 6+ years experience OR Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years experience OR equivalent
• 7+ years expertise in high-speed digital logic design, RTL coding, PPA optimization, and design verification
• Previous experience in high-speed data path design, AI, ML, floating-point compute units, and complex IP development
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements
• Established reputation in high-speed silicon design, scripting language proficiency, debugging, simulation environment knowledge, and more

Responsibilities

• Work as an integral member of a digital logic design team focusing on AI components
• Handle micro-architectural based functions and features, RTL entry, and PPA closure of high-performance digital design
• Ensure design quality, silicon validation, and collaborate with various teams for optimization
• Provide technical leadership through mentorship and teamwork
