Software Engineer II

Job Description

The Software Engineer II position at Microsoft involves designing and developing OS platform components to protect customer data and operations while ensuring a safe and secure environment for running AI frameworks and applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience producing reliable software/object-oriented designs
• 2+ years of experience in C/C++ development of OS lower-stack
• 2+ years of experience in firmware/kernel driver development
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements

Responsibilities

• Analyze software requirements
• Produce and peer review software designs
• Develop reliable and secure OS components in C/C++
• Design, develop, and maintain corresponding tests and test frameworks
• Implement component telemetry, and monitor and maintain health of the OS platform components
• Regularly update on projects status and communicate within and outside the team
