Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

Seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the development of Microsoft’s commercial platform, working on strategic and industry-relevant projects using the latest technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
• 4+ years of industry experience building, designing, managing and delivering highly available, large-scale cloud services and/or distributed systems/services on a cloud platform
• 2+ years of technical leadership and experience steering projects involving cross functional teams

Responsibilities

• Evaluates requirements, estimates development costs, designs and implements software, and continuously improves the development process
• Works autonomously on specific software features or components, contributing broadly to product development while demonstrating technical leadership
• Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate
