Principal Sourcing Engineer, Director of Silicon Sourcing

Job Description

Microsoft is seeking an experienced Principal Sourcing Engineer, Director of Silicon Sourcing to join the Strategic Sourcing team responsible for driving the Silicon strategy and performance for Xbox and Surface Hardware.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 6+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 8+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience.
• 6+ years industry experience in consumer electronics.
• 6+ years industry experience in negotiating complex contracts and deals.
• Demonstrated experience developing and nurturing key stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own the supply chain and sourcing activities for Microsoft Devices Chipset including negotiating commercial agreements, optimizing collaboration, and developing long-term strategy.
• Engage with cross-functional leadership to determine best design solutions and supply base.
• Manage contracting activities with Legal to ensure contracts reflect appropriate business terms.
• Build multi-sourcing strategies to mitigate risk and drive competition.
• Analyze the overall supply chain to identify and resolve systemic issues.
• Provide thought leadership and manage strategic initiatives with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Manage supplier relationships to drive performance improvement.
