Principal Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

Microsoft is looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the Cloud Hardware Systems Engineering team responsible for delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing and improving planning processes.

Requirements

• Doctorate, Master's, or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of technical engineering experience
• Proficiency in CAD software, mechanical design principles, fluid dynamics, and other related areas
• 3+ years of industry experience in the electronics industry with server development background

Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical Development for server and cooling systems
• Apply predictive analysis and empirical validation for performance testing
• Design and validate fluid systems
• Ensure manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and long-term reliability
• Set goals, manage risk, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality hardware solutions
• Translate business needs into scalable mechanical strategies
• Develop technical talent and mentor engineers
• Identify and develop intellectual property and contribute to innovation
