Software Engineer II

Job Description

The Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) organization is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join the Autopatch service team. This role involves leading the design, development, and deployment of scalable and reliable software components for cloud services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
• 2+ years' experience building on top of Azure Services or other cloud services such as AWS
• 2+ years' experience working on large scale databases
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements

Responsibilities

• Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to enhance performance, maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI)
• Design, develop, and operationalize the deployment of complex, enterprise-grade cloud services ensuring high availability, scalability, robustness, and observability
• Leverage subject-matter expertise of product features and partner with stakeholders to drive project plans, release plans, and work items
• Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in an on-call rotation to monitor systems/products/services for degradation, downtime, or interruptions
