Senior Storage Engineer

Job Description

Microsoft is seeking a Senior Storage Engineer to manage and optimize enterprise storage infrastructure in support of Silicon Development, ensuring availability, performance, scalability, and security of critical storage systems for EDA tool simulations and workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
• 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls OR equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in enterprise storage lead position
• 3+ years of experience in storage platforms such as NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, or similar
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise storage solutions across a diverse range of on-premises and cloud platforms
• Continuously monitor storage performance and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align storage solutions with evolving business and technical requirements
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for storage architecture, operational procedures, and compliance policies
• Co-lead storage infrastructure projects, driving technical execution and mentoring engineers
• Ensure adherence to data governance, compliance, and security standards
• Support backup and disaster recovery strategies
