Senior Systems Engineer

Job Description

Microsoft Silicon Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Silicon Development Compute Solutions (SDCS) team to design, deploy, and manage scalable, Linux-based compute infrastructure supporting silicon design workloads.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
• 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls OR equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience as Linux Server Administration Lead
• 3+ years of experience with system automation experience using scripting language such as Shell, Perl, or Python

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize Linux environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure
• Help manage engineering services such as Exceed TurboX, VNC, and authentication platforms
• Lead HPC infrastructure security compliance planning and remediation
• Collaborate with storage teams to diagnose and resolve Linux-related issues
• Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems
• Partner with Engineering and CAD teams to optimize compute and storage performance
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation
• Mentor team members and provide technical guidance
• Communicate effectively across global teams
