Principal Site Reliability Engineer

Job Description

Microsoft is seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join the Azure Cosmos DB team, working on globally distributed, massively scalable cloud database services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
• 6+ years of experience running large scale cloud services
• 3+ years of operational experience in improving Service Reliability, Availability, and Performance
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements

Responsibilities

• Collaborating closely with engineering teams on building and enhancing tooling and automation solutions for faster resolution of issues impacting SLO’s and averting incidents
• Communicating with customers to understand pain points around Supportability and SLO attainment
• Being the single point of contact for interfacing with large enterprise customers for handling service escalations
• Designing and implementing changes to service telemetry for automation consumption
• Analyzing data and providing operational insights into customer experience to Design and Product teams
