Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer - Backend in IC3 team at Microsoft, you will be responsible for empowering real-time conversation products like Skype and Teams with reliable audio and video calling, meetings, and chat services to millions of users.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
• Experience with programming for networking, multi-threaded systems, and/or real-time media
• 2+ years of experience building design documents for large-scale systems
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with stakeholders to determine user requirements
• Creating design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms
• Implementing, optimizing, and debugging code to improve performance and maintainability
• Acting as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) to guide other engineers and monitor systems for issues
• Proactively seeking new knowledge and adapting to improve product performance
