Principal Software Engineer

Job Description

Microsoft is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Microsoft Teams Core Messaging group to collaborate and deliver innovative solutions for Teams AI Agent and Messaging products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience
• 6+ years of experience with React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
• Proven understanding of modern web technologies, front-end performance optimization, and responsive design
• Experience with integrating front-end applications with backend services
• Familiarity with state management tools such as Redux, MobX, or similar frameworks
• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Partners with stakeholders to determine user requirements for scenarios
• Leads development of design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms
• Mentors others to produce maintainable code used across products
• Drives project plans, release plans, and work items across multiple groups
• Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for system monitoring and maintenance
• Adapts to new trends and technical solutions to improve product performance
