Job Description

Microsoft is seeking a Principal Applied Scientist to work on the groundbreaking Microsoft 365 Copilot tool that leverages AI to drive productivity in the enterprise.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years experience developing and deploying AI/ML products
• Experience working with research and engineering teams
• Ability to meet security screening requirements

Responsibilities

• Master a broad area of research and applicable techniques
• Serve as a team expert on industry trends and apply knowledge to influence product needs
• Review business and product requirements, incorporate research, and provide strategic direction
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand user requirements
• Document work, share findings, and promote innovation
• Lead design meetings, create design documents, and ensure alignment with project goals
• Design system architecture meeting security, compliance, and scalability requirements
• Lead implementation and deployment of solutions, ensuring quality standards are met
• Translate project vision into actionable milestones and guide project estimation and planning
• Mentor team members and identify new research talent to join Microsoft
