Job Description

The Vice President of Software Engineering at Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Dallas, Texas will be responsible for developing, enhancing, supporting, and maintaining the firm's software solutions for its global businesses.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Applied Urban Science and Informatics, or related field with 3 years of experience OR Bachelor’s degree in related field with 5 years of experience
• Proficiency in C++ or Java
• Experience in full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and production support
• Building multi-threaded and multi-process service-oriented enterprise applications within Unix environment
• Knowledge of programming technologies like Spring, Hibernate, RabbitMQ, or Kafka
• Experience with relational database management systems such as Sybase or Oracle
• Familiarity with micro-services architecture design and development including REST, Spring, or other back-end technologies
• Skills in database query languages, including SQL or NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing high-quality, scalable technology solutions
• Owning requirements gathering, user story refinement, development, testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and deployment
• Identifying new external technologies for transforming financial businesses and internal platforms
• Working in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to meet internal and regulatory requirements
• Maintaining testing suites to enable safe, complete, and scalable solutions
• Providing training and guidance to junior team members
