Job Description

Vice President, Systems Engineering position at Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Dallas, Texas involving oversight of designing and building the firm's computer and data infrastructure, managing application health and performance, automating failures, and improving application stability.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or related field with 3 years of experience OR Bachelor's degree in the same fields with 5 years of experience
• Experience in performance tuning, troubleshooting application issues, software development, database systems design, full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), SQL performance tuning, and systems management for Windows platforms

Responsibilities

• Apply expertise in datacenter design, networks, storage, grid compute, operating systems, databases, communications, market data, and software languages
• Oversee the design and build out of the firm’s computer and data infrastructure, including implementing public and private cloud-based solutions
• Create automated testing processes, standards, solutions, and tools for smooth operation of the firm’s businesses
• Utilize data mining and machine learning expertise to identify and react to problems in the firm’s infrastructure and platforms
• Identify, analyze, and resolve application issues, document error resolutions, minimize operational errors, track and manage application health, and ensure application service performance
• Manage risk and cost in the production environment, change management process, and production incidents
• Develop sustainable systems and services through automation, performance tuning, and database queries
• Manage business continuity planning, disaster recovery, and appropriate contingency plans
