Optomechanical Design Engineer (E)

Job Description

KLA is seeking Optomechanical Engineers to design precision components, modules, and subsystems for cutting edge reticle inspection tools.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years work experience in 3D solid modeling
• Minimum 3 years work experience in FEA, GD&T
• Strong background in the design of mechanisms
• Basic understanding of optical subsystems
• Familiar with manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding fabrication, and castings

Responsibilities

• Driving requirements specification
• Feasibility studies
• Cost and scheduling
• Conceptual and detailed design, detailed drawings, using 3D solid modeling (ProE/Creo)
• Conducting various analysis such as fluid, thermal, vibrational, and FEA modeling
• Understanding of Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Detailed tolerance stack-up analysis
• Participate in and lead design reviews
• Procurement of prototype parts
• Prototype assembly and testing
• System integration and testing
• Create assembly and test procedures
• Documentation release and handoff to manufacturing
