Manufacturing Engineer, Joining

Job Description

Tesla Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering is seeking a highly motivated joining engineer to develop and scale up joining processes for new programs.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Experience in developing and launching welding and mechanical joining processes in automotive or electronics industries
• In-depth understanding and knowledge of welding, mechanical joining process, equipment, and metallurgy
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AUTOCAD, CATIA 3DX, and other similar software/tools

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design Engineering and cross-functional teams to implement design changes and develop new joining setups
• Lead equipment installation, commissioning, and ramp of high-volume production lines
• Plan and execute DoEs to optimize joining process for manufacturability and quality
• Develop quality control plans, PFMEA, and dimensional improvement plans
• Prepare final documentation handover package for new production lines
