Senior Unreal Engineer, Shared Technology - World's Edge

Job Description

Xbox Game Studios is seeking a Senior Unreal Engineer to work on the Age of Empires franchise, responsible for planning and building the future tech stack. The ideal candidate will have experience in Unreal Engine game development and leading external resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, or C#, OR equivalent experience
• Experience as a senior or lead level Unreal programmer or similar position
• 4 years of experience in C/C++ with an emphasis in Unreal programming
• Understanding of Unreal technologies like Blueprint, Gameplay Ability System, StateTree, Environment Query System, Networking, Mass Entity, or similar
• Experience with shipping Unreal titles on a wide range of hardware
• Experience optimizing Unreal games

Responsibilities

• Direct partners in various aspects of Unreal development
• Stay updated on future of Unreal game engine for long-term project planning
• Work with partners to integrate new features into Unreal games seamlessly
• Participate in architecture reviews and provide implementation guidance
• Collaborate with cross-group work streams for new technology development
• Collaborate with internal teams to prototype and implement new product features
