Energy Network Applications Engineer

Job Description

Join Tesla Energy Applications Engineering team as a Network Applications Engineer responsible for development, testing, and validation of networking features for battery energy storage systems.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in networking, preferably in industrial or energy systems
• Hands-on experience with network solutions including switches, routers, firewalls, transceivers, media converters, and other communications systems in energy projects
• Experience with network software development processes in cross-functional environments
• Strong understanding of network architecture in large industrial control systems

Responsibilities

• Write technical product requirement documents, acceptance criteria, and test plans for new network features and applications
• Develop internal and external technical documentation to educate customers and adjacent teams about new functionalities
• Provide technical support internally and externally with customers throughout the sales and deployment of Tesla products
• Manage and assess reliability of networking solutions by performing failure mode analysis and network modeling
• Lead the development of risk management strategies across a cross-functional team
