Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Flexible Printed Circuits

Job Description

The Supplier Industrialization Engineer at Tesla will be responsible for supplier audits, qualifications, and selections for flexible printed circuits in Tesla's electronics portfolio.

Requirements

• Degree or relevant experience in Electrical, Mechanical, and Chemical Engineering
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with FPC manufacturing or industrializing and managing FPC suppliers
• Subject Matter Expert on Flexible Printed Circuits, Rigid-Flex, or Conductive Trace Printing on Flexible Polymer materials
• Familiarity with quality tools such as APQP, PPAP SPC, RCCA, and related methods
• Strong knowledge and understanding of industry specifications and standards especially IPC and JEDEC
• Experienced with optimizing FPC panel design, and material vs cost vs capacity
• Solid technical knowledge of the FPC Assembly manufacturing process
• International travel required

Responsibilities

• Support Design for Manufacturing based on FPC supplier fabrication limitations
• Define and maintain FPC specifications, criteria, and reliability standards
• Review and define APQP/PPAP requirements for FPC and rigid-flex suppliers
• Conduct FPC supplier audits and drive quality improvement initiatives
• Negotiate piece price and product development with suppliers
• Participate in cost reduction initiatives and explore new technologies
