Job Description

The Supplier Industrialization Engineer at Tesla is responsible for critical component development and qualification activities at suppliers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, visiting suppliers in different regions, and making critical decisions on the spot to ensure high-quality component parts for Tesla's production processes.

Requirements

Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent
5+ years of automotive experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
Familiarity with CAD software, DFM, DFSS principles, SPC, GD&T, and data analysis
Experience in Quality Systems such as PPAP/APQP processes
Strong technical writing ability and communication skills
Ability to travel 30-40% of the time

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct, and conduct industrialization-related activities within the supply chain team
Develop, manage, audit, improve, and correct supplier planning and execution of component manufacturing and assembly techniques and quality control processes
Drive negotiations for piece price and product development to meet Tesla's pricing and quality standards
Facilitate communication between suppliers and Tesla teams, provide leadership for New Product Introductions (NPI)
Lead supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes
Guide suppliers in developing robust processes and procedures for efficient production of high-quality products
Validate supplier corrective actions to ensure robust implementation across manufacturing lines
