Staff Software Engineer, Resource Management

Job Description

Google is looking for a software engineer to work on developing technologies that change how users connect and interact with information. The role involves designing and implementing a self-healing resource distribution ecosystem for managing a large computing fleet.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 8 years of experience in software development
• 5 years of experience testing, launching software products
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture

Responsibilities

• Architect the future of resource management by designing and implementing a self-healing resource distribution ecosystem
• Solve foundational systems problems at the intersection of large-scale distributed systems, risk modeling, and policy enforcement
• Author proposals for foundational investments and define strategies for the broader organization
• Collaborate with partner teams to define requirements and deliver a unified platform
• Help develop other engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, strategic thinking, and innovation
