Job Description

Microsoft is seeking a Critical Environment Instrumentation Engineer to join their Cloud Operations & Innovation team and play a key role in supporting their mission-critical datacenters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
  • Experience in operational, mission-critical 24x7x365 facility
  • Experience in the design and/or commissioning of Industrial Controls Systems (ICS) in datacenter critical environments
  • Project management experience with agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and terminology
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent infrastructure projects
  • Understanding of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Branch Circuit Monitoring (BCM), Building Automation Systems (BAS), and Battery Monitoring Systems (BMS)

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining ICS availability, data quality, service and change management, reporting, and security of all ICS systems in the Data Centers
  • Managing, servicing, and governing Microsoft’s electrical and mechanical ICS to include servers, applications, networks, and device infrastructure
  • Empowering a culture of safety and security in global datacenter operations
  • Developing positive working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
