Reliability Test Engineer, Energy

Job Description

The Reliability Test Engineer will focus on mechanical and thermal systems to design reliability into Tesla Energy's next-generation Industrial, Residential, and Charging products. This role is crucial in the product reliability lifecycle from concept to field operation.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in hardware design validation, test instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
• Experience designing and fabricating custom test platforms and fixtures
• Knowledge of general programming in scripting languages for test automation and data analysis
• Experience with basic test equipment including environmental chambers, chillers, and power supplies
• Experience working safely with high voltage equipment
• Experience using CAD software for custom test fixture design
• Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead test engineering activities for mechanical and thermal systems
• Design and execute product reliability testing with real hardware
• Develop next-gen hardware and software test systems
• Conduct performance and failure analysis and communicate results
• Train technicians/engineers on test equipment operation and troubleshooting
• Comply with safety policies and regulations
