Job Description

Member of Technical Staff - Machine Learning position at Microsoft focusing on developing and improving machine learning models for the Copilot experience.

Requirements

• Doctorate, Master's, or Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience in data science, managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques, and reporting results
• Experience in prompting, evaluating, and working with large language models
• Experience writing production-quality Python code
• Demonstrated interest in Responsible AI

Responsibilities

• Uncover and mitigate model quality and performance issues in consumer Copilot
• Oversee data acquisition or generation efforts
• Generalize machine learning solutions into repeatable frameworks
• Lead evaluation efforts of models deployed within Copilot
• Conduct thorough review of data analysis and techniques
• Track advances in industry and academia for innovation
• Independently write efficient, readable, extensible code and model pipelines
• Contribute to defining the model quality roadmap for Copilot
• Maintain a customer-oriented focus by acknowledging and validating customer needs
