Applied Research Engineer/Scientist

Job Description

Apple is seeking Machine Learning Scientists and Engineers to work on AI-driven products, focusing on ML development and implementation in a collaborative environment that fosters innovation and pushes the boundaries of AI and machine learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related technical field; or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with machine learning through hands-on work in product development, prototyping, or research environments
• Strong programming skills with experience in machine learning development
• Understanding of transformer-based models
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to team members
• Experience with prototyping in ML/AI contexts

Responsibilities

• Participate in the ML development lifecycle, working with cross-functional teams to bring innovative AI technologies into reality
• Help design and implement ML models, work with ML tooling and infrastructure, support evaluation efforts, and implement model inference solutions
• Implement ML models and infrastructure in partnership with designers, software/hardware engineers, and R&D teams
• Support data generation, curation, and evaluation efforts for ML systems
• Develop model inference solutions
• Prototype AI solutions that solve real-world problems
• Collaborate with teams across Apple to implement AI technology into prototypes
