Software Engineer - Azure Core Compute Team

Job Description

Join the Azure Core Compute team at Microsoft as a Software Engineer to work on mission-critical cloud platforms ensuring industry-leading availability, reliability, performance, compliance, and security.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, and proven experience coding in languages including C++ or Rust, OR equivalent experience.
• Academic and/or professional experience with distributed systems, systems programming, and object oriented programming.
• Academic and/or professional experience with Linux and/or Windows.
• Ability to meet specialized security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define feature requirements and integrate feedback into design iterations.
• Develop maintainable and extensible code for backend services.
• Contribute to testing plans and quality assurance.
• Support documentation and dependency mapping for features.
• Participate in live service operations and restore system functionality within SLA timelines.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, safety, and accessibility standards.
