Quality Engineer, Castings & CNC Machining

Job Description

Tesla is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Quality Engineer to join the Lathrop Casting and CNC Machining Team and contribute to the mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or related engineering field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of Quality Engineering in manufacturing environment
• Knowledge and Experience with Core Tools (APQP, DF, PFMEA, Control Plan, work instruction, MSA, SPC)
• Strong CATIA or 3D CAD experience
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings, documents, and GD&T
• Experience with CM4D or statistical software
• Able to support CMM activities
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexible ability to work overtime and AWS on short notice based on strategic needs of the company

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain control plan
• Develop and maintain work instructions
• Coordinate MSA system and implement gauges
• Handle supplier issues
• Support production line
• Train Quality inspectors and auditors
• Drive Cross functional problem solving
