Senior Software Engineering Manager, Search Ads

Job Description

As a Software Engineering Manager at Google, you will lead technical projects, manage a team of engineers, and contribute to product strategy in areas such as artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and large-scale system design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience
• 8 years of experience with software development
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing projects
• 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role
• Experience in machine learning in abuse detection or with Ads

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end defense strategy for Search Ads as the domain authority with understanding of how Invalid Traffic impacts all stakeholders
• Direct Research and Development (R&D) technical initiatives to measure, analyze and categorize spam, using advanced tools and agentic workflows to pinpoint elusive threats
• Guide the team to engineer resilient defenses by designing and implementing new signals and advanced ML techniques at Google-scale, driving efficiency and defense velocity by embracing AI/Agent technologies
• Build, grow and inspire a team of engineers, functioning as a leader by owning the team’s annual and quarterly strategy
• Shape the defense roadmap across AdSpam and key SAGE partner organizations while driving cross-functional capabilities by building high-leverage relationships with Product Leads across Search Ads to influence partners
