Incoming Quality Engineer, Megafactory

Job Description

Incoming Quality Engineer responsible for managing critical component development, quality management, and continuous improvement activities at suppliers.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Six Sigma or ASQ certification preferred
• Experience and knowledge of PPAP/APQP processes
• In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and sampling inspection
• Knowledge in Statistics, Statistical Process Control, and data mining and analysis
• Demonstrable leadership abilities and previous experience managing safety critical parts
• Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at the management level
• Ability to define and execute projects using project management techniques
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Drive improvements using Lean methodologies, Statistical Process Control, and scorecards
• Set priorities for cross-functional teams and suppliers based on performance and business needs
• Develop positive relationships to manage supplier/engineering changes and New Product Introductions
• Lead investigations and specialized testing for major problems focusing on incoming quality inspections
• Perform root cause analysis and coordinate specialized testing and measurement
• Stay updated on manufacturing and engineering trends related to product quality
