Software Engineer - Azure Core Compute Platform Team

Job Description

Join Microsoft as a Software Engineer in the Azure Compute team to develop foundational cloud infrastructure and contribute to various cloud services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, and proven experience coding in C++, C#, Rust, Powershell scripting, and/or Python, OR equivalent experience
• Professional and/or academic experience with VS Code, GIT, network monitoring tools, and/or debuggers
• Professional and/or academic experience with cloud platforms, including but not limited to Azure, AWS, or GCP

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to break down work items, estimate timelines, and escalate delays
• Design and implement extensible, maintainable code across distributed systems
• Apply coding standards and best practices in various languages
• Utilize debugging tools and telemetry to resolve backend issues
• Support documentation, dependency mapping, and architectural discussions
• Participate in live service operations and system functionality restoration
• Develop and apply best practices for scalable, secure code
