Network Engineer, Infrastructure Networks

Job Description

The Infrastructure Network Engineering team at Meta is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to develop IP connectivity solutions and network designs in collaboration with partner teams, with a focus on high availability and speed of deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Over 8 years of relevant work experience in Network Engineering
• Expertise in mitigating IP network hardware and topology failures, with prior experience in designing, deploying, and troubleshooting large-scale network infrastructure
• In-depth protocol experience with BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and understanding of routing policies and performance optimizations
• Proficiency in network device configuration across multiple vendors such as Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Brocade, Nokia, Linux
• More than 2 years of development experience in higher-level languages like Python, C++, Go, with an emphasis on network automation and tool development
• Demonstrated leadership and project management experience

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the design, deployment, management, and maintenance of critical, multi-vendor, multi-protocol networks across all locations
• Spearheading the design and deployment of new network architectures, evaluating emerging technologies, and driving continuous improvement
• Using data analysis techniques to diagnose and resolve network issues, and fostering engineering values within the team
• Developing and driving the team’s technical roadmap, coordinating work and acting as the primary point-of-contact for technical decision-making
• Debugging and resolving challenging problems in live environments, driving reliability improvements throughout the team and organization
