Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Optimus Controllers

Job Description

The Low Voltage Controller Supplier Industrialization team at Tesla is seeking a candidate to develop, qualify, and optimize manufacturing processes for complex electronic assemblies.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
• 2-3 years of experience in electronic assembly manufacturing
• Experience in high volume manufacturing processes and quality systems
• Proficiency in SMT process, PCBAs, firmware flashing, statistical data analysis, and technical writing
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Responsibilities

• Lead New Product Introduction at Suppliers
• Drive supplier improvements in scalability, cost, and quality
• Conduct drawing and CAD reviews with suppliers
• Coach suppliers for design for manufacturability reviews
• Accountable for supplier audits
• Collaborate with internal teams to determine performance specifications
• Guide suppliers in developing robust processes and procedures
• Provide input on materials and negotiate contracts with suppliers
