Job Description

Google is seeking a software engineer to work on next-generation technologies and projects critical to Google's needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
8 years of experience in software development
8 years of experience in managing internal infrastructure, developer tools or distributed computing infrastructure
5 years of experience with design and architecture, and testing/launching software products
8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms
5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction
3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects
Experience building software and distributed systems at scale
Ability to set and drive strategy for the engineering team, while also providing detailed guidance on individual projects
Ability to turn ambiguous problem spaces into clear solutions using problem-solving skills, and work with new technology and think outside the box

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership on projects
Deliver high quality and impactful launches through close partnership with all of GCBP and the Cloud Business teams
Build a collaborative work environment, help others in the organization execute to their maximum potential and actively develop and expand talent through effective mentoring and coaching
Partner with various teams to create, drive and deliver an innovative, compelling experience to customers. Identify and solve cross-functional and inter-team issues efficiently
Lead software development efforts by driving architecture selection, software design, execution, and operations to build out architectures that are resilient to change
