Pack Cycler Test Engineer

Job Description

Tesla is seeking a test engineer to manage a battery pack cycling facility for lithium-ion cells used in vehicles, involving debugging, testing, and analysis.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 1 year of professional work experience or relevant student engineering team experience
• Software development experience in Python, hardware debugging, and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of automotive communication buses, lithium-ion batteries, and high voltage systems safety

Responsibilities

• Prepare battery packs for testing by debugging hardware and configuring firmware
• Analyze data from packs under test for correct execution and health metrics
• Develop an expertise in lithium-ion degradation modes to advise the team on testing requirements
• Maintain and debug test facility software
