Vehicle Ergonomics & Human Factors Engineer

Job Description

Tesla’s vehicle ergonomics team is seeking an intuitive problem solver to own the complete occupant package and ergonomic performance of future production vehicles. The role involves developing, validating, and maintaining vehicle occupant package and ergonomic criteria, collaborating with various teams to implement ergonomic solutions, and ensuring compliance with design and engineering proposals.

Requirements

• 2+ years of proven experience in vehicle occupant packaging, ergonomics, or human factors
• Excellent knowledge of CATIA, 3DExperience, or equivalent CAD software
• Thorough understanding of automotive engineering guidelines, laws, and regulations
• Experience in liaising between automotive designers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders
• Knowledge of CAVA vehicle packaging software and RAMSIS preferred
• Experience with rapid fabrication methods such as 3D printing and hand fabrication of mockups preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, organize, and maintain vehicle occupant package and ergonomic criteria
• Work on driver and passenger positioning, driver controls, driver vision, ingress/egress, cabin roominess, and other ergonomic aspects
• Collaborate with vehicle engineering, styling, design, and program management to implement ergonomic solutions for production vehicles
• Perform digital and physical assessments of criteria against design and engineering proposals
• Develop and run focus studies to establish ergonomic compliance
