Internship, Software Engineer, Simulation Platform (Winter/Spring 2026)

Job Description

Tesla is offering an internship opportunity for students actively enrolled in an academic program to work on the Simulation Platform team, focusing on vehicle firmware development and simulation tooling.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field with a graduation date between May 2026 - May 2027
• Strong knowledge and experience in Rust, familiarity with async Rust is a plus
• Experience with Linux Operating System internals
• Knowledge of version control (Git)
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

• Development of backend infrastructure services in Rust
• Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of simulation tooling for vehicle firmware testing and validation
• Architecture and development of software for big data synchronization, storage, and retrieval
• Develop automated tests to ensure high-quality software releases and accurate functionality
• Work closely with engineering teams and users of the applications
