Component Test Engineer, Reliability & Test

Job Description

Join Tesla's Engineering Test Team to support component and system level testing of various vehicle systems from concept through program release. Multiple roles available in camera integration, closures, and interiors testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Strong engineering fundamentals
• Test experience from school projects, internships, or other relevant experience
• Hands-on approach with genuine curiosity to troubleshoot technical problems
• Experience with sensors (load cells, strain gages, LVDT etc.) and data acquisition systems
• Experience with CAD and fixture design, programming (Python background is a plus), LabVIEW, and CAN communication for test automation

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on component and system level R&D testing
• Collaborate with reliability and design engineers on test planning and execution
• Develop test fixtures using CAD and coordinate with labs for fabrication
• Perform detailed inspections and root cause analysis on test failures
• Automate testing through script development
• Acquire and analyze data from sensors for testing purposes
• Generate detailed test reports for clear communication of results
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including technicians, instrumentation, CAE, reliability, and design teams
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace in a fast-paced environment
