Process Engineer, Castings

Job Description

Tesla is looking for a Process Engineer to lead process engineering and sustaining activities for parts production, specifically focusing on High-Pressure Die-Casting process.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
• 4 years' experience in High Pressure Die-casting for automotive industry
• 4 years' experience in high-pressure diecasting process engineering
• Minimum 2 years' experience with structural Aluminum components for automotive industry
• Minimum 2 years' experience in systematic troubleshooting of casting defects
• Minimum 2 years' experience in project management
• Basic proficiency in 3D modeling and flow simulation software
• Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing
• Strong project management skills

Responsibilities

• Establish, set, and maintain process parameters for High Pressure Diecast Machines
• Program robots for optimized spray and extraction cycles
• Support process development of new dies and manage process optimization
• Collaborate with Tool & Die team to address production issues
• Lead cycle time optimization, die spray programming, and die life improvement efforts
• Contribute to DFM process with Tesla product design and Tooling teams
• Create process documentation and work instructions
• Attend MRB and downtime meetings, lead cross-functional teams for improvements
• Obtain and review dimensional analysis, implement corrective actions
