Applied Scientist II (CoreAI)

Job Description

Microsoft is seeking an Applied Scientist II for their Azure AI Knowledge team to develop agentic experiences over public and private knowledge using retrieval-augmented generation techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years related experience OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience coding in Python, C#, Java or C++.
• 2+ years of experience with large language models.

Responsibilities

• Incorporate state of the art research into techniques shipped to production.
• Develop and build metrics for search engine components.
• Seek out and incorporate customer feedback into dataset construction, evaluation, and technique development.
• Provide technical excellence and contribute to experimentation infrastructure and proofs-of-concept.
• Advance the quality of the team's experimental codebase.
• Work collaboratively with program management, engineers, and other functions across products.
