Sr. Fire Protection Engineer, Facilities

Job Description

The Sr. Fire Protection Engineer will work within an EPC organization mainly in the Gigafactory Nevada area and supporting other North America sites as needed, responsible for driving innovation, executing projects, and promoting collaboration between all project disciplines.

Requirements

• Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent experience
• Licensed Fire Protection Engineer with minimum 5-8 years of experience
• Ability to manage and organize multiple projects with competing priorities
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of IFC, CFC, NFPA, OSHA, and various state agency regulations

Responsibilities

• Develop basis of design for Fire Protection scope of work
• Develop AM&M, Risk Mitigation Plans, and detailed studies for local AHJ submission
• Code Planning & Life Safety design review
• Collaborate with external partners and internal teams
• Advocate and educate AHJs on Tesla's behalf
• Support fire inspections and management for fire life safety consultants and vendors
• Maintain project drawing files and apply lessons learned to future projects
