Sr. Design for Reliability Engineer - Low Voltage Components

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Design for Reliability Engineer to play a key role in designing their products with reliability in mind.

Requirements

• Bachelors of Science in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
• 3-5 years of industry experience in a reliability engineering role or design engineering role
• Domain knowledge of semiconductor design-in and reliability methods
• Experience deploying reliability testing guidelines to suppliers and facilitating DFMEAs
• Working knowledge of programming languages, preferably Python
• Experience working with complex electronic and mechanical systems
• Working knowledge of failure analysis techniques such as optical microscopy, SEM, CSAM, X-ray, cross-sectioning, and EDX

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate Reliability requirements, targets, and test plans for electronic components, subsystems, and assemblies
• Research failure mechanisms to build more robust validation plans and influence design choices
• Facilitate DFMEA sessions for assigned parts with suppliers and internally
• Apply statistical analysis to test and field data to inform reliability physics modeling/analyses
• Drive reliability assessments in product design reviews and communicate risk at each phase of product development
