Sr. Electrical Test Engineer, Abuse Test & Engineering

Job Description

The Engineer will be responsible for testing electrically abusive scenarios for power electronics and battery systems in both vehicle and energy products, collaborating with design teams to ensure world-class safety performance.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Applied Physics Engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ years' experience in physically applied engineering
• Hands-on experience in wiring, prototyping, troubleshooting, and instrumentation
• Ability to work in cross-functional groups and lead technicians
• Capacity to plan and execute multiple activities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Engage electronics and battery pack teams to identify and prioritize test needs
• Create and execute test plans for various abusive scenarios
• Develop sub-pack-scale tests to study novel failure modes
• Anticipate and mitigate test execution hazards
• Share results and maintain documentation for reference
• Recreate field incidents and propose countermeasures
