Job Description

Netflix is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on system performance optimization and scaling operations to enhance member experiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline
• 3 - 5 years of experience leading backend distributed systems teams
• Experience building high-traffic distributed systems with direct impact on customer experience
• Experience in SRE ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational excellence in distributed systems
• Track record of hiring diverse, highly talented engineers and growing successful teams
• Strong technical acumen and ability to act as a technical advisor
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders, partners, and leadership
• Leadership style promoting feedback, new ideas, and empowerment

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of expert engineers in system performance optimization and scaling operations
• Drive architecture, design, and execution of high-performance product infrastructure
• Develop a strategic roadmap balancing incremental delivery with high business impact
• Define success metrics, align migration goals, and drive platform adoption
• Communicate progress to stakeholders, customers, and senior leadership
• Maintain existing systems while prioritizing next-generation development
• Hire, mentor, and grow a diverse, high-performing team
